Frequently Asked K-Pop Questions

In what order are groups and members displayed?
Solo Artists is always pinned first at the top. The other groups follow in alphabetical order (case-insensitive, ignoring leading parentheses, so (G)I-DLE sorts as G). Within every group, members are listed from oldest to youngest by date of birth. This makes it easy to scan a section and immediately know who the elders and the maknae are.
Why are some K-Pop idols listed under a country other than South Korea?
The country pill on each card reflects the idol's country of birth, not their nationality, label, or current residence. For example, Rosé was born in Auckland, New Zealand. Lisa was born in Buriram, Thailand. Momo, Sana and Mina were born in Japan. Tzuyu was born in Tainan, Taiwan. Felix was born in Sydney, Australia. Hanni was born in Melbourne, Australia. Mark Lee was born in Toronto, Canada. Joshua and Sunny were born in the United States.
How are K-Pop birth dates and birthplaces verified?
Each entry is cross-checked against the EN Wikipedia infobox of the idol (or the group page when no individual page exists), the official agency profile (YG, HYBE, JYP, SM, ADOR…), debut press releases, and primary records. Dates are stored in yyyy-MM-dd ISO format and rendered in your iPhone locale by the app, including Hijri, Hebrew, Persian or Buddhist calendars.
Why do some idols appear under more than one group?
Some idols are official members of multiple acts, so their card appears under each section for completeness. Examples include Mark and Haechan (NCT 127 and NCT Dream), Jay Park (Solo Artists and 2PM as Jaebeom), Mark Tuan (GOT7 and SuperM), and several SM artists who promote with both NCT and SuperM.
What is the Solo Artists section at the top?
Solo Artists groups together the most successful K-Pop solo careers. It includes independent solo acts (IU, PSY, BoA, Crush, Bibi, Heize, Jay Park, Eric Nam) and former group members who built major solo careers (Sunmi from Wonder Girls, Zico from Block B, Hyolyn from Sistar, CHUNG HA from I.O.I). They are listed first because their solo identity is now more prominent than their group of origin.
